The Sunrise Scepter is a Pre-Hardmode magic weapon. It is dropped by Scarabeus at a 1/4 (25%) chance. Holding the Use / Attack button will channel a miniature sun that deals damage to anything it touches and pierces infinitely. Releasing the Use / Attack while channeling the sun causes it to slowly fade away. While holding Use / Attack, the weapon will constantly activate, draining 12 mana every time without any additional mana cost-reducing effects such as the Mana Flower. While active, it emits a faint glow that lights up the area around it.

The miniature sun cannot go through blocks, and will bounce upon any tile it hits. It is approximately three tiles in height and length, and will not go through anything that's two tiles wide or less. The projectile can go as far as the screen can stretch, meaning it can travel more than 50 tiles away from the player.

Its best modifier is Mythical. Despite it increasing the weapon's speed, the projectile will not move faster.

Tips[]

  • The Sunrise Scepter is incredibly useful against Brain of Cthulhu and Eater of Worlds due to its infinite pierce.
  • It can dispose of enemies from far away without harming the player, making it a very safe weapon to use.
  • Its faint glow makes it decent for exploring dark areas.
